Fuse On Demand recently caught up with some of the heavy hitters of the rock and metal community — including Rob Zombie and members of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, GODSMACK, LIMP BIZKIT and PAPA ROACH — and asked them to their share their memories of legendary heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio — best known for his work with BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW and his own band DIO.

A clip from the episode can be viewed above.

Watch the full tribute all September long only on Fuse On Demand.

Dio died of stomach cancer on the morning of May 16, at the age of 67.

He was renowned throughout the world as one of the greatest and most influential vocalists in heavy metal history.

The singer, who was recording and touring with SABBATH offshoot HEAVEN & HELL prior to his illness, was diagnosed with stomach cancer late last year. He underwent chemotherapy and made what is now his final public appearance in April at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles.

HEAVEN & HELL earlier in the year canceled summer tour plans because Dio was not going to be well enough to tour.

The band released a new studio album in 2009, titled "The Devil You Know".

Ronnie James Dio, real name Ronald James Padavona, was born in New Hampshire on July 10, 1942.

MEGADETH Performs 'My Last Words' In San Francisco; Video Available

MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has issued the following update:

"Well, last night['s 'American Carnage' concert at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California with SLAYER and TESTAMENT] was fun. Lars [Ulrich; METALLICA drummer] asked us to play 'My Last Words' two minutes before we went onstage and being as we have never even rehearsed that tune with this lineup and MEGADETH hasn't played that tune since 2005 in the land of Oz, I think we pulled it off rather well. Don't worry, though, next time METALLICA comes to where I live, I will return the favor and ask them DURING their show to play the most obscure tune they haven't played in years!! Baaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa. [Big Grin]

"All kidding aside, that was actually really fun to just wing it and enjoy the moment. I hope the crowd did enjoy it as well.

"As you would fathom for San Fran, lots of musicians backstage and mingling to be had — all fun stuff and a good night was had by all."

Mustaine dedicated "My Last Words" to Ulrich "in the spirit of the 'Big Four' coming to America," leading to speculation that a tour featuring METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX — the so-called "Big Four" of 198s thrash metal — will finally make its way to these shores in the not-too-distant future. However, BLABBERMOUTH.NET understands that Lars and METALLICA guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield were watching the show from the side of the stage and Dave was merely playfully pushing the issue with the crowd — he was not making any sort of announcement regarding the aforementioned tour coming to the States.

Fan-filmed video footage of the "My Last Words" performance can be viewed above.

As previously reported, Ulrich has told England's Classic Rock magazine that more "Big Four" shows, featuring METALLICA along with SLAYER, ANTHRAX and MEGADETH, could happen in 2011 or 2012. Ulrich said, "The vibe on this thing is so big, we'd be stupid to ignore it. You know on your iPhone, you can move the weather maps up and down? Well, the 'Big Four' is quickly moving up to the top in terms of potential occurrences for the next couple of years."

The "Big Four" package played festivals across Europe throughout the early part of summer, with the four veteran speed metal bands sharing the stage together for the first time ever. Although there were no U.S. dates, one of the shows in Bulgaria was beamed via satellite to U.S. movie theatres.

Although Ulrich said that he's looking forward to taking "at least six months off" once METALLICA completes its current tour this fall, he added, "I would champion trying to do (the 'Big Four' tour) in 2011 or 2012, obviously in England and the United States. It's just a matter of logistics."

"Come On", the first single from the Cleveland, Ohio art-metal collective MUSHROOMHEAD's forthcoming album, "Beautiful Stories For Ugly Children" (due on September 28 via on Megaforce Records), is available for streaming at GuitarWorld.com.

Director David "House" Greathouse and Robert Kurtzman's Creature Corps recently completed the filming of the "bloody" video for "Come On". The clip is expected to make its online debut soon.

As one of the leaders of the alterna-metal movement since its inception in 1993, MUSHROOMHEAD is one of the more unique and adventurous hard rock bands on the planet today. It’s also one of the most DIY units. The septet has written, produced and recorded its own music, conceived and designed all of its album artwork and photography, stage shows, props and merchandise and also produces, directs, films and edits all of its music videos and DVDs. The band's extreme performance style has garnered it an enormously devoted cult following and its cornucopian sound — a forceful yet melodic, underground yet accessible merging of hard rock, heavy metal, hardcore punk, industrial and soundtrack-worthy ambience — has seen it move upwards of 900,000 records worldwide.

MUSHROOMHEAD has headlined arenas the world over and shared the stage with metal magnates such as OZZY OSBOURNE, ROB ZOMBIE, SLAYER, DEFTONES, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED, MESHUGGAH and DOWN. The band has had multiple Top 50 Billboard debuts, with 2006's "Savior Sorrow" landing at #50 and 2003's "XII" rocketing to #40 in its first week of release.

"Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children" track listing:

01. Come On
02. Inspiration
03. Slaughterhouse Road
04. I'll Be Here
05. Burn the Bridge
06. Holes in the Void

Artisan News Service recently conducted an interview with vocalist Bruce Dickinson and bassist Steve Harris of British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN about the success of the band's fifteenth studio album, "The Final Frontier", which was released on EMI Records worldwide on August 16 (excluding USA, released by UMe on August 17).

Having recorded "The Final Frontier" at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas earlier this year, in an historic first for the band, they released "El Dorado", a track from "The Final Frontier", as a free download on the eve of the opening date of their North American tour to huge excitement from their massive fanbase. Following this a cutting-edge video was released for the opening track, "The Final Frontier", produced by the award-winning production company Darkside Animation Films ("Lost in Space", "Gladiator" and "Black Hawk Down") and two innovative computer games were created as companion releases to the album.

They recently completed one of the most successful North American tours of the summer, playing to over 350,000 fans there across 25 concerts, and followed that success across Europe, where they headlined a series of major festivals, including the huge Sonisphere events in the U.K., Sweden and Finland, alongside their own shows, playing to hundreds of thousands more fans. They will hit the road again in 2011 with further extensive touring, headline dates on the Soundwave series of major festivals in Australia already being on sale for February and further shows to be announced over the coming months. MAIDEN are on blistering form and ready to take their music into 2011 and beyond.
