OZZY OSBOURNE 'Deserves An Oscar' For His OZZFEST 2010 Pre-Concert Video Montage

Fan-filmed footage of Ozzy Osbourne's entire six-minute Ozzfest 2010 pre-concert video montage — featuring the Prince of Darkness set in everything from a "Jersey Shore" scene to a Lady Gaga video — can be viewed above.

Molly Woulfe of NWI.com, who wrote that Ozzy deserves an Oscar for his performance in the montage, described the video in the following way: "No greatest-hits reel for Ozzy; the BLACK SABBATH frontman bedeviled the nouveau famous by inserting himself into a montage of film clips that spoofed 'Avatar' to 'The Hangover'. His take on 'Twilight':

"Bella/Kristen Stewart: 'Your skin is pale white and ice-cold.'

"Ozzy as Edward/Robert Pattinson: '... Vampires are (bleep). I'm the Prince of (bleeping) Darkness!'

"[Ozzy then] surfaced as Mike "The Situation" in MTV's 'Jersey Shore'. Resident sexpot Snooki huffy-puffed away when Osbourne advised her to cross her legs. Equally endearing was his cameo in Lady Gaga's 'Telephone' video. Ozzy, in full drag as Beyonce, looked over the tarted-up Gaga and snorted, 'What the (bleep) are you wearing?'"

This year's Ozzfest main stage features full sets from OZZY OSBOURNE, MÖTLEY CRÜE, ROB HALFORD, DEVILDRIVER and NONPOINT. Second stage headliners and six-time Ozzfest veterans BLACK LABEL SOCIETY are joined by DROWNING POOL, KINGDOM OF SORROW, and GOATWHORE, SKELETONWITCH, SAVIOURS and KATAKLYSM. In addition to non-stop music on both stages, concert-goers can once again visit the Ozzfest "Village of the Damned," featuring a mix of interactive activities, shopping and entertainment throughout the venue concourses. All six dates of the Live Nation-produced tour feature "all-in ticket pricing," which means there are no hidden fees whatsoever — no parking charges at the shows, no facility or surcharge fees — the price you see is the price you pay. Tickets prices start as low as $30 per ticket when purchased in a four-pack.

DISTURBED: New Video Interview With DAVID DRAIMAN, MIKE WENGREN

The official German DISTURBED web site Disturbed.de recently conducted an interview with the band's vocalist David Draiman and drummer Mike Wengren. You can now watch the 23-minute question-and-answer session above.

As previously reported, Draiman had strong words for rock musicians who collect Nazi memorabilia in a new interview with Revolver magazine. Draiman comes from an Orthodox Jewish family and has 200 relatives living in Israel, including his brother and grandmother. When asked about artists such as MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister and SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman who collect Nazi artifacts, Draiman said, "That's super-duper taboo and offensive to me. I don't understand the fascination. It's the most provocative imagery that you can brandish, and that's why people utilize it. And if that's their goal, I guess they're achieving it."

When told that Kilmister, who has been known to wear Iron Crosses and hats from the German air force, defends himself by saying he's just collecting artifacts of war history, Draiman replied, "I don't give a fuck who you are. If you're going to brandish Nazi symbolism, I'm going to have a problem with you because I don't understand how anybody could think it's OK to wear something on their body that symbolizes the annihilation and genocide of my people. I'm not OK with that and there is no excuse and there is no explanation."

When asked by New York Waste about collecting Nazi artifacts and uniforms, Kilmister said, "From the beginning of time, the bad guys always had the best uniforms. Napoleon, the Confederates, the Nazis. They all had killer uniforms. I mean, the SS uniform is fucking brilliant! . . . Don't tell me I'm a Nazi 'cause I have uniforms. In 1967 I had my first black girlfriend and a lot more ever since then. I just don't understand racism, I never thought it was an option."

Draiman wrote a song about the Holocaust called "Never Again" for the band's new "Asylum" album, due out August 31. He explained, "Both of my grandparents on my mother's side were survivors of the camps . . . I've got other relatives who are survivors, and my entire mother's side of the family, save my grandmother and grandfather and a couple of their siblings, were completely wiped out. So I felt it was important to write about it because I realized that the last generation of survivors is about to be lost."

QUEENSRŸCHE Members Talk Next Album; Quality NYC 'Cabaret' Footage Available

QUEENSRŸCHE members Geoff Tate (vocals) and Scott Rockenfield (drums) were interviewed on last night's (Friday, August 20) edition of Eddie Trunk's "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM.

When asked about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the follow-up to QUEENSRŸCHE's 2009 CD, "American Soldier", Tate said, "We're about more than halfway through our new album, writing it... In a sense, it is [a concept record]. It's a very contemporary record.

He continued, "'Empire' was a record of the time. Rock music was really the music of the times in 1990. Unfortunately, rock music isn't the music of the times anymore — it's very underground.

"What we're doing with this record is we're taking the 'Empire' song structure, in a sense, where it's very strong songs, very melodic, but we kind of restructured the rhythm section, and Scott's [Rockenfield, drums] done an amazing job on restructuring that — him and Eddie [Jackson, bass] have just really gone to town, and they've made it very contemporary-sounding.

"These days, in comparison to the old days, people used to sit in their houses and listen to music right in the front room on their stereo system. People don't do that anymore. They plug in and they're mobile and they're moving and they're doing stuff and the music, they're listening to it as they're doing stuff. This music has that feel. It's very contemporary in the sense that it's very rhythmatic. The rhythm structure kind of reflects the way modern life is — we're all busy, we're all doing stuff. And Scott being the incredible drummer that he is, the various time signatures, the feel of the record, it's now — it's very, very now."

Added Scott: "I think we've kind of done the 'Rage For Order'-meets-'Empire'.

NANCY WILSON recalls HEART'S pro-PALIN backlash from 'CRAZIES'

NANCY WILSON says that following HEART's cease and desist letter order to the MCCAIN-PALIN BARRACUDA campaign demanding that they refrain from using the band's 1977 hit "" as a campaign song for Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, they were hit by some dangerous threats from what Wilson describes as "crazies."

Wilson told Classic Rock magazine, that at times it got pretty tense on the road for her and sister Ann, recalling, "Some of the fans decided they didn't like us and didn't like our music anymore. At least for a while. We were out on the road, and the next show that we played after that was somewhere in Florida -- which is not where you wanna be if you're a Democrat. We were kinda nervous, but we upped our security and kept a close watch on people walking in. Luckily -- knock on wood -- of all the crazies who have threatened to take us down, nobody so far has done that."
Back in September 2008 the Wilson sisters issued a statement saying: "Sarah Palin's views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women. We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image. The song 'Barracuda' was written in the late '70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women. (The 'barracuda' represented the business.) While Heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song at the RNC, there's irony in Republican strategists' choice to make use of it there."
Nancy Wilson, who co-wrote the song, told ew.com at the time: "I think it's completely unfair to be so misrepresented. I feel completely f***ed over."
Wilson says that throughout its career, Heart has always embraced change and never been afraid of venturing off the beaten path artistically: "They tell you not to reinvent yourself, because your fans have an identity that they know, that is familiar to them, that they don't want to change. But in our case, we've been able to change a lot, but we've had to fight to be able to change a lot."
Heart performs tonight (August 23rd) in Dallas, Texas at the House of Blues.

Will the BIG FOUR tour come to the US?

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine and SLAYER guitarist Kerry King took part in a joint interview for the September/October 2010 issue of Revolver magazine. An excerpt from the chat follows below.

Revolver: You both recently took part in the seven Sonisphere "Big Four" shows in Europe with METALLICA and ANTHRAX. What was that like?

King: It was one of those rare moments when everything comes off even better than you expected.

Mustaine: It was awesome. It was just like back in the day when we were all just four young bands getting to know each other and hanging out. The first time I went onstage [in Warsaw], James [Hetfield, METALLICA guitarist/vocalist] was up on my side and did that little knuckle-punch thing with me. It was a really cool moment.

Revolver: Was it awkward to share a bill with METALLICA, the band you cofounded and were later kicked out of?

Mustaine: No, it was exciting. We've all wanted this to happen for a long time, and METALLICA finally decided the time was right. Before the first show they threw a dinner for the bands, and I went up to James and said, "I don't want to repair our relationship. I'd like to have a new one." And that's pretty much what I said to Kerry when I saw him in Japan. I mean, we're all older now. Back then, I said stuff that was regrettable and I've grown up a lot.

King: I kind of think of this as ground zero. This is our new starting point. Let's go from here and try to learn each other again.

Revolver: Will the "Big Four" tour be coming to the United States?

King: That's the first thing I said to James when I saw him. I went, "Dude, if this goes well, there's no reason to gyp the rest of the world. Everybody else wants to see this show, too."

Mustaine: All of our camps have talked, and Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] flat-out said to me that he wants this to keep going. He talked about it going on next year. And our agents say there is talk about this happening in 2012. So everyone's talking about it now. It's just a matter of making it happen.
